About me:
Hello!
My name is Niels Philip Kögler, I am 31 years old, and I come from the northern part of Germany near Hamburg.
I’ve been a member of the volunteer fire department since my youth.
I joined the youth fire department in Henstedt-Ulzburg in 2005 at the age of 12, and in 2011, I transitioned to the active duty department in the local fire department in Henstedt. From 2011 to 2014, alongside my studies, I was also a secondary member of the fire department in Altenholz. Since my move, I’ve been a member of the volunteer fire department in Norderstedt, specifically in the Garstedt local department, since 2015.
I’ve completed various training programs, obtaining certifications as a breathing apparatus wearer, chainsaw operator, group leader, and a truck driver’s license.
In addition to my operational duties, I am involved in the media and public relations of the fire department and serve as the spokesperson for the Norderstedt Fire Department.
In 2011, during the summer, I spent four weeks in the USA. During my time there, I visited several fire stations in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Since then, whenever possible during my travels abroad, I try to visit the local fire station. I share my experiences and provide tips for those who want to combine their international stays with a visit to a fire station on http://www.fire-travel.com.
